Artwork Guidelines

There are a number of ways in which you can send your artwork to us here at Daymark. Please read the following check list prior to supplying your files.

Artwork Formats

The ideal file format to submit to us is an Adobe Illustrator file with all fonts converted to outlines or a high resolution pdf file (minimum resolution of 300 dpi). We also accept native files in all versions of the following:

  • Adobe InDesign
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Adobe Illustrator
  • Quark Xpress

If you are submitting native files you will need to include the fonts and links. If fonts are not converted to outlines, they must be included with the file. We also recommend the following checks:

  • Images must be a minimum of 300dpi
  • Files containing bleed should be set to 3mm
  • Photoshop images must be flattened
  • Fonts are vectorised or converted to paths

Should you have any queries prior to sending your artwork, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Fonts

When using fonts for print or reproduction a number of issues need to be considered as corruptions may occur prior to going to press. When creating your artwork please note the following:

  • Do not use shortcut tools within your program when creating bold, italic or underlined text. Always use the original font's Medium, Bold, Italic etc. versions.
  • Do not use the space bar indenting purposes. Always use the proper tabbing facility associated with the your program or alternatively create separate boxes for each block of text.

Sending Files

Email

We are happy to accept your artwork via email, however, please ensure your files do not exceed 10Mb and that all fonts, dependent on your application, have been vectorised, converted to paths.

Large Files

Artwork can also be sent directly to our FTP server especially if your files are over 10Mb in size.  Please ask for this address.

Postal Delivery

Alternatively you can save your artwork to disk and send it to us via the post.

PDF Files

Due to copyright restrictions some fonts will not embed into a PDF file, therefore all fonts must be vectorised within the artwork.

EPS Files

All fonts must be converted to paths within the artwork.

MAC Files

Never send a Mac artwork file with Mac fonts via e-mail as corruptions may occur. We recommend you send your artwork via our FTP server facility.

Artwork Proofing

An initial artwork proof is inclusive in our quoted price and also, if applicable, a subsequent reproof if required. Further proofs thereafter, if deemed as the author's changes, will be chargeable.
